Happy Earth Day WMES! Ask your students what they learned about Earth Day today! We can all make a difference!
 

April 24 - Spring “Celebrate the Arts” night at WMES:

• 6-6:30 - Performance in the gym for PBC, P1WM, 1J, 1/2D and 2/3FS  
  We will be setting up 2 seats per family unless you emailed last week to request extras.  Tickets will come home on Tuesday.  If you are not attending  and don’t need your tickets please return them on Wednesday morning.  If you still need to request extra tickets - please email kwolfe@hrce.ca asap. Thanks.  
  
  Doors will open at 5:45pm.  Students can be dropped off in the cafeteria and then you can proceed to the gym. After the performance we will bring the students to you in the gym and then you can proceed to explore the school and the art show which will begin at 6:30pm.
   
• 6:30 - 8pm - Open House Art Gallery for EVERYONE

Literacy and Math in Grade 3 Provincial Assessments (LM3):
Provincial Assessments for our Grade 3 students will be taking place on May 14, 15, 16 and May 22, 23, and 24th.  If you have a child in Grade 3 please see the attached Parent Information pamphlet for more information.  Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Schools Plus Update:
Our SchoolsPlus team is offering a virtual information session for families to review the Disability Tax Credit, disability pensions, childrens’ benefits, savings plans and a gasoline tax refund program.  If you are interested in attending this online session on May 7th please check out the attached flyer.

Excel Registration 2024-25:
Registration for EXCEL’s before and after school programs is quickly approaching.  Please see the attached information on how to register for continuing students and for new students.  We are in Unit 3.
Early registration for returning students is May 1st - 2nd
General registration for new students is May 15-16th.

June 3 - Grade 5 students visiting GPV for a tour (Permission slip to come home in late May)
June 12 - Spring Fling 5:30-7:30pm
June 13 - Rain Date for Spring Fling
June 18 - Field Day for PP-5 students
June 20 - Rain Date for Field Day
June 26 - 10 am - Domino Show - whole school
June 26 - Grade 5 Celebration / Ceremony (details to come home in early June)
June 27th - Assessment Day - No School for students
June 28th - Last Day of School for students (10am dismissal)
