This Week at WMES

This week at WMES
March 8, 2021
Dear WMES Families:

• Daily COVID Checklist
Families and staff are asked to do a daily COVID self-assessment before coming to school. This document is updated through the year by Public Health. https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/docs/Daily-COVID-checklist-en.pdf-
Thanks for your continued support and cooperation.

• This week is Wellness Week at WMES.  We are learning about Wellness all month, but this week we will be focusing on a Wellness theme each day.
Monday -  Find Your Calm – Take time to breathe
Tuesday  - The Great Outdoors!
Wednesday – Get Creative!
Thursday – Let’s Move!
Friday – Spread some love!
Be sure to ask your child what wellness activity they learned about each day.

March Break is next week.  We will be sending home all students personal items (indoor shoes, etc.) this Friday.  Please be sure to send them back after the break.  Thanks.

February was Registration Month –
Please be sure to remind friends and family that if they have a child ready to start Primary or Pre-Primary in September that they should now be registered for school.  Staffing for the 2021-22 school year will begin this month, and is determined by our registration numbers. Accurate numbers help us staff our schools effectively.  Thanks.

• March is Nutrition Month and we celebrated the “Big Crunch” with apples from the Vegetorium today (we didn’t get the apples washed in time to get them to students on Friday).  Check out our twitter feed for some photos.  The apples were delicious!  A big shout out to Mrs. MacKay for organizing, and to the Vegetorium for the delicious apples.

Upcoming dates for your calendar:
March 15 – 19th – March Break – No School
March 24th – Assessment Day – No school for students
April 2nd – Good Friday – No School
April 5 – Easter Monday – No School
