Welcome Back to a new school year WMES.  The first day of school is Wednesday, September 5th.

Playground Supervision begins at 7:40am. 

We would like to invite you to an Open House/Meet the Teacher night on Tuesday, September 4th from 6pm to 7:30pm.  There will be two classroom sessions for you to meet teachers, ask questions and drop off classroom supplies. The first is from 6-6:25pm and the second from 6:30 - 6:55pm.  Students are welcome to attend!

We will also have ice cream treats available for everyone for $1 beginning at 6:30pm and available (while supplies last) until 7:30pm.    We invite you to bring your school supplies Tuesday night to make things easier on Wednesday morning.  We hope to see you here.

There are important changes happening with Stock Transportation this year.   Please be sure to register on https://hrce.mybusplanner.ca  asap to check updated bus routes/ times/ etc. You will need your child's provincial student number (found on the June report card) to register. 

We were recently advised by the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) that all students entering grade Primary will be able to use our playground equipment starting on the first day of school. There had been a concern raised in the spring regarding students who had not yet reached the age of five. This has been clarified. All students can use the equipment and they will be covered under the school insurance program. As always, we will continue to provide close supervision of all students when they are at school. We can assure you the safety of your child is our top priority and we look forward to welcoming all students back to school.

The September newsletter will be coming home next week. 

Class lists are still being finalized.  You will receive an email from the school on Tuesday by 3pm (hopefully earlier) to let you know which class your student is in.
