This week at WMES

Dear WMES Families:

• This Friday, September 25th is a Professional Development Day for staff.  There is no school for students on this day.
   
• Safe Arrival:  Morning arrivals have been going very well. Thank you so much. Announcements and O Canada will be beginning at 7:55am as classes begin right at 8am. Once the announcements have begun the side and back doors will be closed so be sure that students come to main doors to enter so that we know they have arrived safely. 
   
• Cafeteria Update: A reminder that the cafeteria is not taking cash orders this year. 
  All orders must be placed online.  The link to our webpage is below.  When ordering online please be sure to update your child’s homeroom for this school year. Thanks.

• Emergency Planning:
  We will have our first Lockdown Drill of the year this week on Thursday. Classroom teachers will take the time to go over procedures with all classes before this takes place. Please see the attached notice. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Wolfe.
  Early Dismissal Procedure updates: With some uncertain weather heading our way this week we would like to remind everyone how important it is for us to have up to date contact information for all families.
  If you have not sent in your updated registration form to the office – please do so asap.  Also, it does take some time for all of the updated forms to be recorded in PowerSchool.  If your contact numbers / email addresses have changed – please be sure that your child’s classroom teachers have this information.  Thanks.
   
• If school is cancelled  through the day (Early Dismissal) we have new protocols for student pick up.  If you are here to pick up your child because school has been cancelled please pull into our Kiss & Go Loop and reamain in your car.  Someone will be out to meet you and then will radio in for your child to be dismissed. 
   
• Picture Day proofs will come home today.  All orders must be placed online this year.  There is a code you can scan on the form to take your directly to their website, or you can go to
