This week at WMES
October 12, 2020

Dear WMES Families:
Happy Thanksgiving!  We hope that all of our WMES families enjoyed a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend.  We are thankful for all of you!

Travelling outside the Atlantic Bubble – If your family has travelled outside the Atlantic Bubble over the Thanksgiving holiday please remember that your children must self-isolate for 14 days upon return – before they can return to school. This is a Public Health directive. This is critical to the safety of all of our students and staff and families. We want to stay in school and stay healthy.

Changing Weather/ Appropriate Clothing -   As the weather begins to change we want to remind everyone that we will be continuing to go outside as frequently as possible, even when it may be wet / cold.  It is very important that students are bringing appropriate clothing (jackets, boots, hats, mitts) so that their outside time can be as enjoyable as possible.  We would also encourage everyone to ensure that gym sneakers are coming to school on days when your child has Phys.Ed.  These sneakers will travel home again each evening.  Please be sure that all items coming to school are labelled as we do not have a Lost and Found this year, but items that have names typically find their way back to their owners.

WMES School Rules – Here is a copy of our School Rules.  Last year we worked together as a staff to consolidate our rules and create some common language.  Staff will spend time teaching what each of these rules looks like, sounds like, and feels like in different areas of our school.    Students are expected to follow these rules in all school environments and with all staff. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Halloween 2020 at WMES – There will be no costumes at school this year for Halloween.  On Friday, October 30th we are encouraging everyone to dress in Orange and Black.  We would also like to remind everyone that we can’t bring in treats to share this year.    Anyone who would like to send a photo in of their child(ren) dressed in their costumes can send those to wmlcs@hrce.ca and we will create a slideshow that teachers can share with their classes – a virtual Halloween Parade.  If you would like your child’s picture included please send it in by October 28th.  Thanks

Have a great week everyone.
Take care & stay safe
