This Week at WMES

Dear WMES Families:

A few updates this week:

• Please continue to use the Covid19 Daily check everyday before sending your child to school. Students who are unwell should not be at school. 
  Thank you for helping us all stay safe and healthy this year.
   

• Student Success Survey for grades 4 and 5 students will take place between May 2nd and 13th.  More information is posted on our website.
   
• Child Abuse Register Search Requests
  The Department of Community Services has advised that Child Abuse Register Searches can now be requested online, at the following link: https://beta.novascotia.ca/apply-child-abuse-register-search. They will continue to accept paper applications via mail as well. In either case (submitted online or by mail), the confirmation letter will continue to be mailed to the applicant via regular mail. 
  As per the Student Protection Policy, all volunteers must have a completed Child Abuse Register Search prior to volunteering with HRCE.

• Volunteers Make a difference!  We are soon hoping to be able to invite volunteers back to our classes (whether it be to help out with special activities, or maybe even a class trip).  Please see the information at this link to help ensure that when the time comes you have the correct, up to date paperwork ready if you would like to volunteer at school. • As the weather continues to improve we are noticing that our Lost and Found is once again overflowing.  Students are wearing extra layers of clothing in the mornings that they don’t always need by the end of the day.  Please label all clothing items so they can be returned to you instead of donated.  Thanks.
