This Week at WMES
May 2nd - 6th

Dear WMES Families:

A few updates this week:

• Please continue to use the Covid19 Daily check everyday before sending your child to school. Students who are unwell should not be at school. Thank you for helping us all stay safe and healthy this year.
   
• Our May calendar is now posted on our webpage.
   
• Student Success Survey for grades 4 and 5 students will take place between May 2nd and 13th.  More information is posted on our website.
   
• Grade 3 students will be participating in Provincial assessments (LM3) between May 16th and 27th.  More information will come home to families of grade 3 students this week, and will be posted on our website. 
   
• Safe Arrival / Attendance reporting:  When recording a student absence parents/guardians can only mark their child as absent for the day, not half days.  When the student arrives at school we will update the attendance code at that time as late.  This is a safety/security feature so that in case something changes we don’t have students marked as present until they actually arrive.

Looking ahead to next year:

• Class configurations for next year will begin in May.  We do not take teacher requests,  however, if you have a concern / friendship issue that we need to know about when making lists please email Kwolfe@hrce.ca before May 13th.
• If you know you are moving and will not be attending WMES in the Fall can you please let us know as soon as possible.  Also, if you know of any families who have moved to your area that may have school-aged children, please encourage them to contact us to register for September as soon as possible.
