This Week at WMES
May 16th - 20th

Dear WMES Families:

A few updates this week:

Please continue to use the Covid19 Daily check everyday before sending your child to school. Students who are unwell should not be at school.
Thank you for helping us all stay safe and healthy this year.

We would like to wish our caretaker, Ms. Kim,  a very happy Retirement.  Monday, May 16th is her last day with us at WMES.  Ms. Kim has worked tirelessly to keep our school safe and clean and she will be missed by all.

This week our Grade 3 students will be writing the Grade 3 Provincial Assessment (LM3).  We ask families of Grade 3 students to please have students here on time (by 7:55am) each day.

We are in the process of preparing for the 2022-23 school year.  If you know that your child will not be attending WMES next school year, can you please let us know at the office asap.  It is important for us to make projections based on actual numbers as much as possible. Thanks.

School Messenger Safe Arrival -  Please note that the school messenger safe arrival app and phone line are directly connected to the contact information (phone and email) that we have recorded for you.  If you use a different email or call from a different phone number, the service won’t work.  If your contact information has changed please be sure to let us know so that we can update our system.  Thanks.

Sunscreen / Bug Spray - We ask that whenever possible that sunscreen and bug spray are applied at home before students come to school.  We understand that there are different policies for EXCEL and Pre-Primary, however, teachers and EPA’s cannot  apply these products for students, so please be sure that they are applied at home each morning.
If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact Mrs. Wolfe.
If any products do come to school they must be non-aerosol and scent free due to sensitivities and allergies.
Please send a refillable water bottles every day.  As the weather warms up it is imperative that students have a water bottle with them to keep hydrated.

Tick Check - Please be sure to check for ticks each day as we have had some reports of ticks already this year.

A number of students have begun bringing ball gloves and balls to school.  We love that the students are finding new activities to play outside - but we ask that any balls brought for catch are soft, not regular baseballs.  Thanks.

Upcoming Dates to mark on your calendars:
