This Week at WMES

Dear WMES Families:
Happy Summer Everyone!  We hope that you all get an opportunity this summer to rest and recharge.

We would like to take an opportunity to say thank you to the many staff members who are moving on to new adventures next year.
Thank you for everything you’ve done to help make this past year at WMES a great success.  We wish you all the best in your next chapter:

We still have a few library books that need to come in.  Please keep searching for them, and even if they turn up over the summer - we’ll take them in September. 

Our Lost and Found items will be donated on Wednesday.  Items include sweaters, jackets, sneakers, keys, water bottles, and much more.  If you are missing an item, Tuesday is the last day to claim them.

We would like to thank some of our Grade 5 students who helped paint our PRIDE staircase near the front entrance today.  We hope you can drop by and see it sometime this summer.  They did a great job (and had a lot of fun). Check out the photos on  Twitter.

A reminder that:
- Tuesday, June 28th is the last full day of school. 
- Wednesday, June 29th is an Assessment day for staff.  Students do not attend that day. 
- Thursday, June 30th is the last day of school for students.  Dismissal that day will begin at approximately 10am. 

This week we will post school supply lists for next year on our webpage.

Our webpage will be updated over the summer months with staffing information for the 2022-23 school year.  

Late Registration Day will be on August 25th for in person registration.   However, registration will also continue throughout the summer online at https://www.hrce.ca/registration . 
If you know your child will not be attending WMES in the Fall please contact us asap.  Thanks.

The first day of school for students will be Wednesday, September 7th, 2022.   Our “Meet the Teacher / Curriculum night Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 6th from 6 to 7pm.  We hope you can make it.

Class Lists for next year will not be finalized until early in September.   Please note that nothing is finalized until a teacher contacts you to welcome your child to their class.  If the PowerSchool portal opens early (as it did last year) we would like to caution you that the information there may not be accurate.  Tentative lists were put in last month, but our enrollment numbers have already changed, and there have been many other changes on paper that are not yet reflected in the system. This will be the case right up until early September.

Please keep checking the WMES webpage over the summer months for any updated information.
