This Week at WMES
Week of March 6-10

Dear WMES families:

• Upcoming Spirit Days this month:
  Friday, March 10 - Comfy/ Cozy Day
  Friday, March 24 - Rainbow Day
  Friday, March 31 - Tropical Day
   
• A note about sending invitations to school for outside events: 
  While we recognize that it can be difficult to get party invitations to students when they don’t live in your neighborhood, we do ask that whenever possible you avoid sending invitations to school for students to hand out.  This practice leaves many other students feeling excluded and anxious.   If you have no other way to get an invitation to a classmate than through school, we ask that you please have a conversation with your child about giving them out discreetly and without announcing it to the class.  Thank you for understanding.
   
• We are participating in “The Big Crunch” on Thursday of this week.  All students will be given an apple for snack time on Thursday.  
   
• Next Week is the March Break.  There is no school for students from March 13 - 17 inclusive.  We hope that you all find some time next week to enjoy family time, and to rest and rejuvenate.

• The Monday right after March Break is an Assessment and Evaluation Day for teachers as they will be completing report cards.  There is no school for students that day.  Students first day back after the break is Tuesday, March 21st.
   

• The Lost and Found is overflowing and unclaimed items will be donated over the March Break.  If you are missing any items please take a minute to come and go through it before this Friday.  Thanks.

• If you are in need of COVID testing kits or masks please let us know.  We can send some home - or you can drop in to pick them up.

Upcoming Dates for your calendar:
March 13-17th - March Break - No school
March 20th - Assessment and Evaluation Day - No school for students
March 28th - Report cards will be mailed home
March 30th   - No School - PD for staff in the morning
   - Student Progress conferences in the afternoon and evening
