• A local community group is hosting a Spring Dance fundraiser on April 6th to raise money for a new sports field that will benefit all families in the Lockview High catchment area.  For more information please check out this link.

• Preparing for the Solar Eclipse on April 8th
  A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, obscuring the view of the sun from a section of the Earth.
  
  This event is extremely rare, with the next solar eclipse not occurring in the province until 2079. Nova Scotia will be just outside of the zone of totality for the solar eclipse; for this reason, it is important that individuals have appropriate protection to view this historic event. 
  
  The solar eclipse will begin at 3:27 p.m., reaching maximum coverage at 4:38 p.m., and ending at 5:44 p.m.

  Students at WMES will receive their glasses on the morning of April 8th.  If your child is going to be absent that day you can pick your child’s glasses up at the office.  Thanks.
  
   
• Kenny’s Pizza and Garlic Finger kits:  
  
  Kits can be picked up at school on April 4th between 12 and 8pm.  
  We will have a limited number of kits available first come first serve on the 4th for $13.

• Student Progress conferences with teachers will take place on Thursday, April 4th from 1-3pm and 6-8pm.  
  
  You can sign up for a conference by going to this link.   The link will close at noon on the 3rd.  After that you will need to contact the teacher to make an appointment.

• Spring Celebrate the Arts night 2024  
  We are so excited to welcome our WMES families to our Spring Celebrate the Arts night on April 24th.  
  
  Families of students in Pre-Primary, PBC, P1WM, 1J, 1/2D and 2/3SF are invited to join us for a musical performance from 6-6:30pm in the gymnasium.   
  
  Everyone is invited to join us from 6:30 to 8pm to explore our “Pop Up Art Gallery” which will be celebrating the amazing work our students have been creating all year. Our school halls will be full of beautiful creations and we welcome you to pop in anytime between 6:30 and 8pm and celebrate with us.
