This Week at WMES

Dear Families:
Please use the Covid19 Daily check before sending your child to school each day.  Thank you for helping us all stay safe and healthy this year.

Some updates for this week:

February is an exciting month in school. 

• February is African Heritage month.
  This month we will be highlighting the learning we do all year long to learn about African Heritage in Nova Scotia, and to appreciate African culture and influence in our everyday lives. Attached you will find a calendar of learning opportunities that will be shared each day at school.  Feel free to discuss it at home and follow the links to share in our learning.

• February is a month for us to practice and promote Friendship and Kindness at school. 
  As we celebrate the “Valentine Spirit” all month long we encourage you to share in our “Random Acts of Kindness” calendar with us. 
  Please see the attached February Calendar with important dates and "Random Acts of Kindness" challenges.

Registering for the 2022 - 23 School Year:

• Do you have a child who is eligible to start Pre-Primary or Grade Primary this fall? It’s time to register for school! 
  HRCE begins the registration process in February so that schools are ready to welcome your child in September. You can find everything you need to get started here: hrce.ca/registration .
  
  Children who are enrolled in Pre-Primary do not need to re-register for primary.
  
  Please share this information with your friends and neighbours with children who will be 4 or 5 years old by December 31. 
  To limit non-essential visitors to schools, families are required to register online.
