This Week at WMES
February 28th - March 4th, 2022

Dear Families:

Please use the Covid19 Daily check before sending your child to school each day.  Thank you for helping us all stay safe and healthy this year.

As we look forward to a new month, we know that there continues to be so much uncertainty about the days ahead.  Please reach out if your child is struggling and we may not know, or if your family is needing support in any way.  We will do everything we can to help you access the resources you need.   Spring is just around the corner!
 

Some updates for this week:

• Our School Advisory Council (SAC) is meeting virutally this Thursday night at 6:30pm.
   
• Please ensure that students are dressed for all weather (or have extra clothes in their bags) when they come each day.  We make every effort to get outside as often as we can.
   
• Healthy snacks / breakfast:  We continue to have “Grab and Go” items available in the office for students who may have been too rushed for breakfast, or who may want a healthy snack.  Items typically include apples, and fruit cups and we hope to be expanding on the items available soon.

• Student Drop off in the mornings: 
  Please be sure that if you are using the “Kiss and Go” loop that you are not exiting your vehicle.  It is important to keep traffic flowing in that area so that we do not have traffic backing up onto the main road.

• Registering for School
  New students who will be attending Waverley Memorial Elementary should now be registered for the  2022-23 school year.  If you know of someone who still needs to register, please encourage them to do so asap at: hrce.ca/registration .   The staffing process for next year begins in April and accurate enrollment numbers help us to ensure we are planning effectively for our students.

Important dates in February / March:

March 14-18 - March Break
March 21st - First day of Term 3
March 23rd - Assessment and Evaluation Day - Term 2 No School for students
April 4th - Term 2 report cards will come home
April 7th - Student Progress Interviews will take place (afternoon and evening)
