This Week  (and next) at WMES
Week of May 15 - 26

Dear WMES families:

• Our May Calendar is now available on our Webpage!   A reminder that there is no school on Monday, May 22nd for Victoria Day.

• Our Grade 3 students are writing the Grade 3 Provincial Exam this week and next week.  This has changed some of our specialists scheduling to accommodate the assessment.

• Volunteers Make a difference!   Please see the information at this link to help ensure that when the time comes you have the correct, up to date paperwork ready if you would like to volunteer at school/ on class trips. Thanks.  
  
   
• Mark your calendars… Our PTC is hard at work planning a Spring Fling for June 13th from 5:30-7:30pm. 
  
  We need volunteers!  A link to sign up will come home soon.  Stay tuned!  

          Our next meeting is May 25th - at 6pm.  Feel free to join us.      

Looking ahead to next year: 

• Class configurations for next year will begin in May.  We do not take teacher requests,  however, if you have a concern / friendship issue that we need to know about when making lists please email Kwolfe@hrce.ca before May 19th.
   
• If you know you are moving and will not be attending WMES in the Fall can you please let us know as soon as possible.  Also, if you know of any families who have moved to your area that may have school-aged children, please encourage them to contact us to register for September as soon as possible. 
  
   
• Grade 5 Closing Celebration:
  We will be celebrating our Grade 5 students on June 28th at 1pm. 
  Family members are welcome to join us.   We will have a short assembly and then cake and juice in the cafeteria.
  If you have a photo of your student that you would like to share for a celebration slideshow, please forward to kwolfe@hrce.ca by June 1st.  Photos could be a baby photo, first day of school photo, or any other special photo you would like to share. Please only send one. :) Thanks.
  
   
• Tick season is upon us.  It is important to regularly check your student for ticks.  Please check out these tips on Tick Safety from the Province of Nova Scotia.
